Acharya Sulochana Deshmukh

Acharya Sulochana Deshmukh began her study of Jyotisha under a senior teacher of the Pune-based Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan school, one of the last lineage-holders of the Parashari tradition trained in the old gurukul method. She deepened her understanding through a five-year correspondence with scholars at the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha in Tirupati, cross-referencing the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra with regional commentaries in both Marathi and Telugu. Her family roots in Vidarbha meant she grew up hearing planetary names spoken at the dinner table, and that early saturation never left her.
