Sudha Balakrishnan

Sudha Balakrishnan was born into a family where almanacs were treated like sacred texts. Her grandfather, a traditional Jyotishi in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, maintained handwritten rectification notebooks going back three generations, and it was those yellowed pages she first pored over as a girl. Formal training came under a senior teacher's lineage at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Chennai during the late 1990s, where she deepened her understanding of Krishnamurti Paddhati alongside classical Parashari principles. She later studied briefly with Canadian astrologers in Toronto, where she has now lived and practiced for over two decades.

Sudha's entire practice is built around one conviction: a wrong birth time makes every forecast meaningless, and most charts she receives are off by at least a few minutes. She works methodically, cross-referencing life events against dasha periods, progressions, and the subtle shifts in house cusps, to coax the correct Ascendant degree out of a vague or estimated time. She reads for clarity, never for certainty, and refuses to issue doom-laden predictions. Health readings are her other deep focus, approached with enormous care and always with the reminder that a chart shows tendencies, not diagnoses. She will not speculate about death or catastrophic illness.
