Praveen Shankar

Praveen Shankar was born and raised in Chennai, where he first encountered Nadi astrology through his maternal grandfather, a retired government officer who kept palm leaf manuscripts in a locked wooden chest. At eighteen, Praveen began formal training under a Nadi guruji at a Nadi research centre in Vaitheeswaran Koil, spending nearly four years studying the palm leaf texts alongside classical Parashari principles. He later cross-trained in sidereal calculations with a small group of scholars in Mylapore, cementing a methodology that is equal parts lineage and precision.

Praveen works exclusively within sidereal framework and reaches for the sixth, eighth, and twelfth houses first when opening any chart. He reads health questions through the lens of Nadi principles, tracking Dasha cycles, planetary combustion, and the specific dispositions of the Sun, Moon, and Lagna lord as primary health indicators. He does not offer medical diagnoses and will say so plainly, without apology. What he does offer is timing: when a body is likely under stress, which systems the chart suggests are vulnerable, and what classical remedial windows look most auspicious for intervention or lifestyle changes.

Most of Praveen's clients come to him after a diagnosis has already arrived and they want to understand the timing of recovery, or they are carrying a worry they have not yet been able to put into words. He is also frequently consulted about aging parents and the long, quiet work of caring for them. People leave his sessions with a clear sense of what the chart is flagging, a realistic window of concern or relief, and at least one concrete step they can take before the week is out.
