Lakshmi Iyer

Lakshmi Iyer was born into a family of Shaiva scholars in Mylapore, Chennai, where her grandfather — a practicing Jyotishi trained in the Parashara tradition — kept hand-written horoscope manuscripts stacked beside the puja room. She began her formal study under Pandit Subramania Shastri at the Madras Sanskrit College at age twenty-two, spending six years immersed in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and the commentaries of Mantreshwara. Her training was supplemented by two intensive years with a Kerala Jyotisha lineage in Thrissur, where she absorbed the Nadi-influenced reading style that now shapes her synthesis.

Lakshmi reads charts with the precision of a scholar and the patience of a teacher. She reaches first for the Navamsha and the Dasha sequence before touching any surface-level planetary placement, believing that the deeper divisional charts reveal what the Rashi alone can only hint at. She focuses her readings around dharma and relational karma — particularly marriage compatibility (Ashtakoota plus Rahu-Ketu axis) and spiritual timing.
