Acharya Sudha Ranade

Acharya Sudha Ranade was born into a family of Sanskrit scholars in Pune, where her grandfather, a practicing Jyotishi, kept handwritten pañchāṅga notebooks that she memorized before she was twelve. She trained formally under a senior teacher at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Jyotish faculty in Mumbai, graduating with distinction in classical Parāśarī Siddhānta. A later sabbatical brought her to the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, where she spent two seasons studying muhūrta and graha bala with senior scholars there. That triple lineage, familial oral tradition, institutional Parāśarī study, and Advaita-adjacent temple learning, shapes everything she does today from her home in Calgary.

Sudha reads exclusively through the Brihat Parāśara Horā Śāstra framework, cross-referencing the Jaimini Upadeśa Sūtras when rāśi aspects clarify what bhāva placement alone cannot. She pays special attention to daśā sequencing and graha yuddha, and she insists that a chart be read as a whole system rather than cherry-picked for the question at hand. She will not assign a single predicted outcome to any life event, her philosophy is that Jyotisha illuminates probability corridors, not fixed fates, and she never provides so-called 'death timing' or marriage guarantees. Clarity, she says, is the only thing she can honestly promise.

Most of her clients come to her at crossroads: a career pivot in a foreign country, a delayed marriage that families have begun to comment on, a health scare that left them wondering about the larger pattern of their life. After a session with Sudha, people typically leave with a written summary of their active daśā, the next two to three major transit windows, and one or two concrete remedial suggestions drawn from classical smṛti texts, nothing invented, nothing generic. They leave understanding their chart, not just receiving a verdict.
