Moushumi Sengupta

Moushumi Sengupta was born and raised in Kolkata, where she began her study of Jyotisha under a lineage scholar of the Parashari school. She trained formally at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan centre in Kolkata for six years, deepening her grasp of the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra alongside classical Bengali astrological texts. Her family had its own quiet tradition, her maternal grandfather read charts at the kitchen table, and she grew up watching birth details discussed as naturally as weather. That early immersion gave her a reverence for the precision the tradition demands.
