Indrani Roy trained under Jyotish Acharya Pradip Bhattacharya in Kolkata, where she spent four years studying Parashari techniques alongside the less common Jaimini Sutra methods her guru favored for material matters. Her family background was anything but mystical — her father was a chartered accountant and her mother a school headmistress — which meant that from the beginning, her approach to astrology was shaped by a demand for practical answers. She completed her formal certification from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's astrology faculty before setting up her practice in Salt Lake City.

Indrani reads charts the way a financial analyst reads a balance sheet — she goes straight to the 2nd, 6th, 10th, and 11th houses, tracks Saturn and Jupiter transits closely, and uses Vimshottari Dasha sequences to identify precise timing windows for income shifts, business pivots, and career moves. She does not dress up hard planetary placements in vague comfort language. If a period looks financially difficult, she will say so and then tell you exactly what to prepare for.
