Vandana Chavan

Vandana Chavan learned astrology the hard way, sitting beside her maternal uncle, a Pune-based Jyotishi who kept a dog-eared copy of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra on his desk and refused to answer any question about a chart until the student had calculated it by hand. She spent seven years under his guidance in the late 1980s and early 1990s, later cross-training in Vastu principles under a Nashik practitioner and independently developing her aura-reading practice through workshops in both Mumbai and Mysore. Her roots are firmly Maharashtrian, and the pragmatism of that tradition runs through everything she does.

Vandana reads charts the way an accountant audits books, methodically, house by house, with the second, sixth, eighth, tenth, and eleventh houses forming the backbone of almost every session. She focuses on planetary periods, transits over wealth indicators, and the condition of the Artha trikona before she says a single word about timing. She will tell you what the chart says clearly, even if it is not what you hoped to hear.
