Sulabha Ranade

Sulabha Ranade grew up in a joint family in Pune's Sadashiv Peth, where her maternal grandmother kept a worn notebook of dreams and their meanings beside her pillow, a tradition passed down from the women of the Chitpavan Brahmin household. She came to formal study late, training in prashna and Parashari Jyotisha under Pune-based scholar Pandit Vasant Abhyankar in her mid-forties, while also absorbing the Atharvavedic school of swapna-vichara, the ancient Indian framework for reading dreams as messages from the subconscious and the divine. These two rivers, family oral tradition and classical shastra, run through everything she does.

Sulabha approaches a reading the way a careful listener approaches a conversation: she gathers before she speaks. In dream work, she pays close attention to color, direction, animals, and the emotional residue a dream leaves behind, she believes the feeling that clings to you at 5 a.m. is at least as important as the image. In prashna charts, she works primarily with the Moon, the Ascendant, and the nakshatra of the moment the question is asked. She will not manufacture certainty. She says plainly: her job is to help you hear what is already trying to reach you, not to hand you a fate wrapped in ribbon.

Most of her clients come with one of three things weighing on them, a recurring dream they cannot shake, a relationship decision that feels impossible, or a timing question about something they want to begin. They leave with language for what they were already sensing, a clearer sense of the season they are in, and usually one concrete thing to watch for or act on in the days ahead.
