Nilesh Sathe

Nilesh Sathe grew up in Thane, Maharashtra, in a household where his maternal grandmother kept a worn notebook by her bedside, a dream diary she had maintained for over forty years. That notebook, filled with Marathi script and hand-drawn symbols, was his first textbook. He later trained under a senior teacher of the Nashik Jyotish Parishad, learning Brihat Jataka-based chart analysis, before spending three years studying svapna shastra, the classical Indian science of dream interpretation, through private correspondence with a scholar in Varanasi. Those two lineages, the practical and the visionary, run through everything he does.

Nilesh reads charts the way a careful listener follows a half-remembered story: he pays attention to what isn't said as much as what is. He begins with the Moon's nakshatra and the 12th house before he looks anywhere else, because he believes that what the mind processes in sleep is often more honest than what the waking ego admits. He will not use astrology to frighten people or issue countdown timers on difficult periods. His rule is simple: he reads for understanding, not for dread. The dream layer, what a client reports seeing during Saturn transits or Venus progressions, is as valid to him as any planetary position.
