Pandit Devinder Sethi

Pandit Devinder Sethi was born into a family of Punjabi pandits in Jalandhar, where his grandfather kept a worn copy of the Lal Kitab tucked beside the morning prayer texts. He began formal study under a senior Lal Kitab pandit in Ludhiana at age nineteen, spending four years learning the unconventional planetary house system and the debt-based remedy logic that makes Lal Kitab distinct from classical Parashara Jyotish. He later deepened his training through extended study circles in Delhi before settling in Brampton, Ontario, where the Punjabi diaspora gave him a ready and eager clientele hungry for the old methods.

Devinder reads Lal Kitab strictly, not as a supplement to Vedic astrology, but as its own complete system with its own rules. He focuses on the six categories of planetary debt, the concept of sleeping and awakened planets, and the relationship between a planet's house position and the native's real-world behavior. He uses cheap, accessible remedies: burying copper coins, feeding crows, keeping a particular metal in the pocket. He will not dress up a bad chart with false comfort, and he does not predict death timelines under any circumstances. He reads for clarity about cause, not certainty about fate.
