Annapurna Vemuri

Annapurna Vemuri was born and raised in Hyderabad's old city, where her grandmother kept a wooden box of rough stones, emeralds, corals, a fat yellow sapphire, each one chosen for a family member after careful study of their janma kundali. That early fascination led Annapurna to the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's astrology program in the late 1990s, where she trained under a strict Parashari traditionalist who insisted students memorize the Navaratna shlokas before touching a single horoscope. Twenty years of practice later, her grandmother's wooden box sits on her own desk.

Annapurna reads primarily through the lens of grahas and their material representatives, the stones, metals, and colors that bridge a planet's celestial influence into everyday life. She begins every consultation by mapping the planetary periods in play, identifying which grahas need strengthening and which are better left undisturbed. She is firm about one thing: she will never prescribe a stone simply because it is fashionable. A wrong stone worn with good intentions can unsettle a chart just as quietly as a bad transit, and she has spent two decades learning to read those subtle shifts.

Most of her clients come to her carrying a half-purchased ruby or a well-meaning mother-in-law's advice about wearing yellow sapphire.
